Ben Howard

Design & Art Direction for a multi-award winning artist

Visualising Ben Howard’s Music

I have worked with with Ben in one way or another for 15 years now, and for many years my role was to oversee all things visual, spanning album and single artwork, live visuals, merchandise, and including writing and directing some of his most iconic music videos.

I illustrated and designed Ben’s first official release entitled These Waters, and went on to design and art direct his next four major releases; Old Pine, Every Kingdom, The Burgh Island EP (which uses one of my images on the cover) and I Forget Where We Were.

It was my responsibility to create or source imagery for all physical and digital releases, all merchandise, live tour visuals, marketing and ad campaigns and all manner of various visual output during that time.

I also toured with Ben and the band several times to shoot video and stills of the live performances.

It was a hugely creative time and I worked closely with Ben and other great creative minds in his creative sphere including Mickey Smith, Allan Wilson and Alex Hill - all of whom I continue to work with today.

I still shoot Ben’s concerts from time to time.

There is a huge body of work from this time and I cant show it all on one page without crowding it completely. If you’d like to see more head over to the archive section where I’ll be posting about album campaigns, films, photos and other bits and pieces.
